A few observations from the successful slow smoking competition held on March 8th in Prague.

On Saturday, March 8th, another edition of the regularly held slow pipe smoking competition took place at the pleasant Restaurant by the Pink Orchard (the third edition in 10 years :-)) III. PRAGUE SMOKING organized by the Prague club PC Dýmka.net. Out of the originally registered 45, a total of 38 pipe smokers participated. The tobacco smoked was Old Timer Mixture broken flake, which was a choice I must commend the organizers for; the tobacco had a pleasant taste, did not burn, and only slightly gurgled.

The winner of the individual competition was Polish pipe smoker Wieslaw Ratajek from the PC Szczytna club with a time of 1:29:40. Two smokers failed to light their pipes. In the team competition, the first place was taken by the Polish friends from the PC Szczytna club, ahead of PC-70 Poděbrady and Dýmka.net A. The following teams participated in the competition: PC Szczytna, PC-70 Poděbrady, Dýmka.net A, PC 00 Brandýsek, Dýmal club Nový Malín, PC 5 Ruda nad Moravou, and Dýmka.net B. You can view the overall ranking of teams and individuals in the photos.

After the announcement, when the contestants picked out some really nice prizes, a great dinner followed.

Overall, it was a wonderfully organized event, a gathering with friends in a pleasant environment with good beer and food, and we can only hope that the period for organizing this competition will shorten and the next edition will be next year!

P.S. Thank you to Zdeňka Pšeničková for the great photos!
